Thomas (Tom) J. Butler: native of Clopook, Muckalee, Ballyfoyle, Co. Kilkenny, Ireland (February 1st 1944 - August 16th, 2026)
Devoted husband, survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Butler Nee Mellett from Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo. Loving father to Michael, John, Tina (Michael Leonard), Steven and Jim (Michelle Butler).
Beloved brother of the late Martin (Catherine G.), Packie (Mary), John (Joan), and Bridget (John Doyle), Lizzie, Anne (Colum Campbell), Margaret (Nicky Moore).
Grandchildren Tom, Brayden, Katelyn and Sean Butler survived by many nieces and nephews in U.S.A, Canada, Ireland and England.
Tom was a true Irishman and a committed Catholic. He had a sharp wit and was never short of a story, he loved to entertain. He was also a die hard “Kilkenny Cat”! During his working years Tom was a tremendous worker and often worked multiple jobs. He was an avid sportsman; hurling was his favorite game. He will be remembered for his monthly column in the Irish American News which he greatly enjoyed writing.
Visitation: Wednesday, August 19th from 4:00pm-7:00pm, at Kerry Funeral Home 7020 W. 127th Street, Palos Heights, 60463.
Funeral Services: Thursday, August 20th, 10:00am at Kerry Funeral Home of Palos Heights.
Burial following Committal Service at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Alsip.
