Tracy Lynette Cohn, 60, of Richton Park, passed away with her loved ones by her side on January 8th, 2026.
She was the adored wife of Rodney Cohn for 38 years. Teenage sweethearts who recognized their soulmate connection as far back as 1982, Tracy and Rodney spent 43 years building a life and home filled with joy, love, and unwavering stability. Tracy was the devoted mother of Amanda Cohn Briggs (Eric) and Nicholas Cohn, and she cherished her children more than anything on this earth. She was also the proud and doting "Mimi" to her grandson, Adrian Henry Briggs, who was her absolute pride and joy.
Tracy is survived by her mother, Lowanna Washington, with whom she shared an incredibly close bond including weekly visits, and her sister, Angel Swann. She was preceded in death by her dear father, Lawrence Washington.
A proud alumna of Governors State University, Tracy earned her bachelor's degree and dedicated her career to human resources at Prairie State College, where she was a respected member of the department and managed payroll for the entire institution.
Beyond her professional life, Tracy was a curious spirit who longed to see the world. Her international adventures took her to Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, Paris, London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin, Rome, and many other corners of the globe. At home, she expressed her love through baking; her friends and family felt her warmth in every cookie, carrot cake, and pound cake she shared. An avid reader, she never stopped expanding her mind with fiction, non-fiction, and philosophy.
Tracy was a truly special person who will be missed by too many to name. While her physical presence is gone, her legacy of love and curiosity will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
The tribute to Tracy's life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am and the service will start at 11 am.
