Verna Elease Peggs was born to Theodore and Maebell Hudson on August 18, 1950 in Chicago, IL. Verna grew up in the Grand Crossing neighborhood. Verna attended Hirsch High School and then later received her Bachelors at Chicago State University. Verna retired from the Chicago Public School System, where she served as a teacher for many years.

Verna was preceeded in death by both parents, Theordore and Maebell Hudson; Two brothers, James Collins and Cleo Hudson; One brother-in-law, Keith Shavers; Two grandsons, Kevin Peggs Jr. and Kristian Peggs.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Kevin Peggs, Kandice Kidd, and Kortnei(Ahmed) Robinson; Five grandchildren, Kywra (Rayjon) Allen, Angela Fletcher, Chance Peggs, Colin Peggs, and Trevon (Daynesha)Robinson; Eleven great grandchildren, Xavier, London, Antonio, Avery, Anias, De’Andre, Arien, Chase, Maravia, Kamora, and A’Myriah; One Sister, Jerusha Hudson-Shavers, and host of nephews, nieces, family, and friends.
