Vincent Thomas Mendoza, 46, of Chicago's West Lawn neighnorhood passed away on September 15 leaving behind family, friends and countless unforgettable memories.
Born on April 29, 1980, in Santa Ana, California, Vince was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend whose presence brought energy and joy wherever he went.
Vince was a talented athlete and standout quarterback at Kelly High School where he played all four years. His competitive spirit, personality and love of the game made his time on the football field an important part of his life. After high school, Vince attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois, before answering the call to serve his country. Shortly after the events of September 11, 2001, Vince enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country during a defining period in American history.
