Warnie Jackson was born on May 21, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois, the fourth child born to the union of the late Lucille Lavow Jackson and Preston Jackson, Sr.
Warnie shared a loving and compassionate bond with her siblings. She was especially close to her brother, Preston Jackson Jr., and her younger sister, Wanda Jackson, both of whom preceded her in death. At an early age, Warnie confessed her life to Christ.
Later in life, she rekindled and strengthened her walk with the Lord, remaining faithful until her transition.
Warnie was educated in the Chicago Public School system and attended Lucy Flower High School on the west side of Chicago. She later continued her education at Triton College in Melrose Park, Illinois, and graduated from cosmetology school, pursuing her passion for beauty and creativity.
Warnie was a light in the hearts of all who knew her. She was known for her fun-loving spirit, kindness, and vibrant personality. With a compassionate heart, she cared deeply for her family, friends, and neighbors, always offering support and encouragement whenever it was needed.
She enjoyed many activities, including arts and crafts, painting, listening to music, dancing, playing games and cards, attending church, spending time with family and friends, and visiting the casino.
Warnie was the loving mother of four children: Redd (Israel), Ronda, Samuel, and Sheina, whom she loved dearly and shared a unique and affectionate bond with. She also shared a particularly special relationship with her grandson Dell. Their bond was filled with love and laughter, and they often spent time together, including planning to move to another state and enjoying trips to the casino.
Warnie was truly a warrior—strong, resilient, and remarkably positive. Throughout her battle, she remained upbeat and jovial. During some of her most challenging times, her dear friend Daniel provided phenomenal support and care.
Warnie was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille Lavow Jackson and Preston Jackson, Sr.; her brothers Oscar, Harland, Howard, and Preston Jr.; and her sisters Hazel, Freddie, Sylvia, and Wanda.
She leaves to cherish her memory to her loving children: Redd (Israel), Ronda, Samuel, and Sheina; her beloved grandchildren Dell, Tierra, Jayanna, India (Durk), and Sebastian; two siblings Garland (Gloria, Terria) and Priscilla (Johnny); eleven great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Warnie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her love, warmth, and joyful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
