William Lovell

June 25, 1966 — October 28, 2025

William “Willy/Bill” Lovell died peacefully and surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 28th, at the age of 59.

Bill is survived by his Mother, Darlene Lovell; children, Joshua Hamlin, Madeline Dollahan (Genevieve Unterfinger, Malakai Burnett); siblings, Kelly VanLeuween and husband Steve VanLeuween, Tammy Lovell and husband Dennis Steinke; nieces and nephews, Nicole and wife Star Lovell, Ashley Steinke (Ryleigh Steinke), Jessica VanLeuween, Dennis Steinke III and fiance Melissa Tran, Michael VanLeuween; aunt, Jane Bartsch.

He is preceded in death by father William Harold Lovell, family dog Kingston Lovell, and a host of grandparents, aunts, and uncles who loved him dearly in life.

Bill was born on June 25th, 1966 in Chicagoland, Illinois to Darlene and Harold Lovell. From a young age, he was highly intelligent, social, and loved to be out on the road. He lived life on his own accord, never settling in one place, driven by his nature to rove. With a strong gift of gab, and penchant for landloping, he made countless connections with others all across the region. He was a loyal lover of Chicago sports, hyping up the Cubs until the very end. A big man with a deep voice, he was known for having the soft heart of a child and deep sentimentality for his family. His kindness and humor will be missed.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday November 8th, 12-4 PM at Family in Faith Christian Church, 1480 Bloomingdale Rd, Glendale Heights, IL 60139.

Pastor Steve Kass will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bill’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church's foodbank*: https://www.fifcc.org/donateoptions/, or to Bill's funeral costs: Venmo @NicoleCLovell, Zelle @630-864-7554.

“I'll be there forever and a day - Always

I'll be there til the stars don't shine

Til the heavens burst and

The words don't rhyme

And I know when I die, you'll be on my mind

And I'll love you - Always”

― Bon Jovi
