Yang Choo

Our beloved mother, Yang Ja Choo, 83, of Glenview, IL passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, held in love . She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Soo Nam Choo, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage.  

Yang Ja, was the adored mother of Melissa Choo Valentinas (Michael) and Rodney B. Choo (Janet), and a proud, loving grandmother to James Valentinas, Jonathan Valentinas, Evangeline Valentinas, Ella Choo, and Brandon Choo, who brough her endless joy. 

She is also survived by two brothers, and was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.  She was a cherished aunt and great-aunt, and a dear friend to many who were fortunate enough to know her.

Above all, Yang Ja will be remembered for the love she poured into her family.  She was the best of all that was good in our family and shone a bright light on all those around her.  She will be deeply missed and forever loved.  

A devout Catholic, Yang Ja, was a faithful parishioner of St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Mission. Her faith was a steady source of strength throughout her life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Yang Ja Choo's memory to St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Mission (Des Plaines, IL) or to the Alzheimer's Association.
